Abstract

Brackish Forest Podorukun Village Seponti District is one of the important habitats for bird species. The purpose of the study was to determine the diversity of bird species found in the brackish forest of Podorukun Village, Seponti District, North Kayong Regency. This research was carried out in the brackish forest of Podorukun Village, Seponti Subdistrict from June 23 to July 15 2018. The method used is the path method (transeck) combined with a count point (point count). This study uses 3 (three) lines in the observation location. The research location was divided into 3 (three) habitats, namely the dominant nipah (Nipa fruticans) vegetation area, the dominant mangrove vegetation area (Rhizophora sp.) And mixed vegetation area. Each of the three observation lines is made in the faithful pathway, 5 count points with a distance between 200 meters and each track is 1000 meters long with a radius of observation for each point 50 meters, the observation time is 15 minutes at each point of calculation. The results of the observations were 24 diurnal species consisting of 22 families. The dominant dominance index at the time of observation was found in the Nipa fruticans with C = 0.1606, the highest diversity index found in mixed vegetation areas with H ̅ = 2.2738 and the highest evenness was found in the mixed vegetation area with e = 0.8617. The highest similarity index was found in mangrove vegetation (Rhizophora sp.) And mixed vegetation with IS value = 60.26%, while the lowest similarity value was found in the dominant nipah (Nipa fruticans) vegetation with mangrove dominant (Rhizophora sp.) = 22,22%. The protected bird species according to Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999 and found in the study location are plain honey birds (Anthreptes simplex), shoot merbah (Pycnonotus goiavier), crested girlfriend lathe (Coromandus clamator), and bird species included in the category of Near Treatened (risk low) namely bird species Plain honey (Anthreptes simplex).
