Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JURNAL LAUT KHATULISTIWA will be read and reviewed blindly (double blind peer review) by (a minimum of) 2 peer reviewers who are expert in their field who work independently and professionally by upholding the ethical code of scientific publications as a reviewer. The peer-review process for Jurnal Laut Khatulistiwa is as follows:

  1. Reviewers scan and examine incoming articles to see whether they match their expertise in their field of science. Reviewers have the right to refuse if it is not in accordance with their expertise and competence, and the Section Editor can transfer it to another appropriate reviewer.
  2. Reviewers review articles based on the substance of the article (article quality) within a maximum period of 2 weeks from the time the article is received. If within this time period has not been completed, the reviewer must confirm this with the Editor in Chief.
  3. During the article review process, reviewers provide an assessment of the article manually via the review checklist form attached to the articles
  4. Reviewed articles are returned to the Section Editor.
  5. Reviewers provide decisions on the articles reviewed, including:
    * Accept submission (article accepted without revision)
    * Revisions required (the article needs to be revised by the author and returned to the reviewer)
    * Decline submission (article rejected)
  6. The final decision of manuscript acceptance shall be made by the Editorial Board according to reviewers’ critical comments. The results of reviewed articles by reviewers will be notified to the author via email

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

About Jurnal

Jurnal Laut Khatulistiwa is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that published by Marine Science Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Tanjungpura. The aim of Jurnal Laut Khatulistiwa is to publish exciting, empirical research, recent science development, and high-quality science that addresses fundamental questions in marine science. This journal published electronically (e-ISSN 2614-8005) and in print (p-ISSN 2614-6142) three times a year (February, July, and October).

Journal Laut Khatulistiwa publishes articles on wide range of scope in Marine Science, Marine Environment, Marine Technology, and Fisheries.

This journal is Nationally Accredited as a 5st Grade Scientific Journal (Sinta 5) decree No. 164/E/KPT/2021 on 27 December 2021 by Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Indonesia.
