STUDI ELEMEN RUANG TERBUKA PUBLIK TERHADAP RESPONSIF GENDER (STUDI KASUS KORIDOR JALAN JENDRAL SUDIRMAN KOTA PALEMBANG)
Abstract
STUDY OF THE ELEMENTS OF PUBLIC OPEN SPACE BASED ON GENDER-RESPONSIVE (CASE STUDY ON JALAN JENDRAL SUDIRMAN PALEMBANG CORRIDOR)
In recent years, development planners have stated that gender needs analysis is critical to be carried out in every development planning and integrated into every development project. Each gender needs an analysis process. Incorporating it into planning and development projects is based on how it responds to the priority needs of all genders by paying attention to the positive and negative impacts that arise and how they affect each gender. One of the goals of the physical development of the center of a city is to create a gender-responsive public space that can function as a forum for women to carry out activities and socialize activities. The city of Palembang, as one of the cities with several public open spaces used by many women at the beginning of planning, may not have done a Gender-responsive analysis. This research was conducted with qualitative descriptive approaches by determining the variables based on the availability of "gender-responsive criteria" in the Public Open Space, then seeing how the response of elements of public open space to "gender-responsive criteria" was gender-responsive. The study results show that most of these elements have not responded to and fulfilled the specific needs of women's gender, so women have not been able to use the RTP optimally. The results of this study are expected to be a new basis for improving the development of public open spaces, especially in the city of Palembang in particular.
