Analisis Pengaruh Jumlah Sudu Terhadap Efisiensi Turbin Ulir Archimedes

Abstract


Electrical energy is a very important need in all human activities. The rapid growth in electrical energy consumption is estimated that without new energy resources and energy efficiency efforts, Indonesia could become a pure oil importer in the near future. One way to overcome this is to utilize renewable energy sources, namely water. Water energy is a renewable energy source that has great potential in Indonesia, especially in West Kalimantan. Archimedes screw turbine is an electrical energy generator that sources energy from water that can be used inhead low. The aim of this research is to develop previous research which has analyzed the effect of the number of blades on turbine efficiency, namely by enlarging the scale and adding analysis of the influence of pulley transmission and variations in turbine tilt angle on turbine efficiency and output produced with the same water discharge. This research uses literature study, observation and experimental methods. Analysis results of the archimedes screw turbine with 1 blade and 2 blades, the best results were obtained on a 2 blades turbine with a rotation of 554.7 rpm, torque 0,4625 Nm, power 26,84 watt, voltage 34,9 volts and efficiency of 28,32 % resulting from variations in the turbine tilt angle of 30°. The addition of a pulley transmission to the turbine can increase the rotation of the generator which is converted from turbine rotation and variations in the tilt angle of the turbine affect turbine efficiency.
