Rancangan Desain Body Mobil Listrik Prototipe Fakultas Teknik Terhadap Aerodinamika Berbasis Pemodelan Computational Fluid Dynamics Menggunakan Metode Pahl and Beitz

Abstract


Increasing  emissions is one of the main issues facing the world today. One of the factors influencing this increase is vehicles that use fossil fuels, therefore currently the automotive industry is providing a solution to reduce this problem, namely electric cars. One of the parties who is serious about this development is the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia which holds an annual routine agenda in the form of an Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE) through the National Achievement Center (PUSPRESNAS). Therefore, every year the electric car team of the Untan Faculty of Engineering participates in This activity also aims to apply the knowledge learned during college. The method used in this design is Pahl and Beitz, where this method provides clear systematics in a design starting from the basic design to the creation of a prototype electric car design. The body that has been designed is then analyzed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with various parameters as considerations to obtain optimal analysis values. The main objective of this design is to obtain an ideal body design with respect to the drag coefficient and lift coefficient values. Based on experiments on the three simulated designs, the most optimal value was obtained for design 3 with a drag coefficient of 0.16657 and a lift coefficient of 0.16560
