PENGARUH PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATEMATIS PADA MATERI GRADIEN DI SMP
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII pada materi gradien persamaan garis lurus di SMP Kristen Immanuel Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan Nonequivalent Group Posttest-Only. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIG sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dengan model Single-Sex PBL, VIIIE sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 dengan model Mixed-Sex PBL, dan VIIIC sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional, yang masing-masing berjumlah 37 siswa. Hasil perhitungan one-way anova dan uji t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis antara kelas eksperimen 2 dan kelas kontrol, sementara tidak terdapat perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas eksperimen 2, begitu juga antara kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas kontrol. Perhitungan effect size menunjukkan bahwa model Mixed-Sex PBL memberikan pengaruh lebih tinggi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi gradien dibandingkan model Single-Sex PBL.

Abstract: This research aims to find out how Problem Based Learning model effect on grade 8 students’ mathematical critical thinking ability in gradient of straight line topic at SMP Kristen Immanuel Pontianak. The research method was experiment method with Nonequivalent Group Posttest-Only design. The sample of this research were students of VIIIC as experiment group 1 with Single-Sex PBL model, VIIIE as experiment group 2 with Mixed-Sex PBL model, and VIIIC as control group with conventional teaching model, with 37 students in each class. Using one-way anova and t-test analysis, the result showed that there is difference between experiment group 2 and control group, while there is no difference between experiment group 1 and experiment group 2, as well as between experiment group 1 and control group. Effect size calculation showed that Mixed-Sex PBL has greater effect in increasing students’ mathematical critical thinking ability than Single-Sex PBL.
