PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN ILMU PENGETAHUAN SOSIAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISKUSI

Abstract

Activity classroom action research was conducted on the students of class VI River Elementary School 24 Sungai Pinyuh Pontianak regency. Based on the observation that there are some difficulties such as difficulties experienced by students asking, learning difficulties, difficulty in finding natural features and social circumstances neighboring countries because of poor motivation. To overcome the above difficulties required the use of a class discussion in teaching Social Studies teachers and students to be more creative and motivated. Based on the exposure of the background it will be taken up the topic of whether to use a class discussion method can improve learning motivation in teaching Social Studies Grade VI Elementary School 24 Sungai Pinyuh?. This study uses classroom action research (CAR) with the object of study is only one class ie class VI Elementary School District 24 Sungai Pinyuh Pontianak and the number of students 18 people. Action research was conducted by 2 cycles. Increased activity of teaching is evident from the implementation of the stages in the RPP has been achieved well in the second cycle there are 5 point increase in assessment indicators of activities undertaken by teachers. While From the summary results of the study can be seen an increase in students' motivation in teaching sixth grade social studies with the method of discussion, increase class VI student motivation can be seen in Table 6. After all percentage scores are averaged, it can be seen that in the first cycle the average number of students who are motivated to study at 66.6%, then on the second cycle the average number of students who are motivated to study at 93.4%. So it can be said that the motivation of students increased after the improvement of the learning process on the second cycle of 26.8%.

Abstrak: Kegiatan penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas VI Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Sungai Pinyuh Kabupaten Pontianak. Berdasarkan hasil observasi terdapat beberapa kesulitan yang dialami siswa seperti kesulitan bertanya, kesulitan belajar, kesulitan dalam menemukan kenampakan alam dan keadaan sosial negara tetangga karena lemahnya motivasi belajar. Untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut diatas diperlukan penggunaan metode diskusi kelas dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial agar guru dan siswa lebih kreatif dan termotivasi. Berdasarkan paparan latar belakang tersebut maka akan di ambil topik permasalahan yaitu apakah dengan menggunakan metode diskusi kelas dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial siswa kelas VI Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Sungai Pinyuh?. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan obyek penelitian hanya satu kelas yaitu kelas VI Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Sungai Pinyuh Kabupaten Pontianak serta dengan jumlah siswa 18 orang. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus. Peningkatan aktifitas mengajar ini terlihat dari pelaksanaan tahapan-tahapan di dalam RPP yang sudah tercapai dengan baik pada siklus II yaitu terdapat 5 point peningkatan indikator penilaian aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh guru. Sedangkan Dari rekapitulasi hasil penelitian dapat diketahui adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VI pada pembelajaran IPS dengan metode diskusi, Peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VI ini dapat dilihat pada tabel 6. Setelah semua persentase skor dirata-ratakan maka dapat dilihat bahwa pada siklus I rata-rata banyaknya siswa yang termotivasi pada pembelajaran sebesar 66,6%, kemudian pada siklus II rata-rata banyaknya siswa yang termotivasi pada pembelajaran sebesar 93,4%. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa motivasi siswa meningkat setelah dilakukan perbaikan proses pembelajaran pada siklus II sebesar 26,8%.
