ANALISIS ETNOSENTRISME ANTAR KELOMPOK SISWA DI KELAS XI IPS SMA N 1 SUNGAI AMBAWANG

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui etnosentrisme antar kelompok siswa di kelas XI IPS SMA N 1 Sungai Ambawang. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian deskriptif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kelompok-kelompok siswa di kelas XI IPS SMA N 1 Sungai Ambawang mendekati sikap etnosentrisme, antar kelompok etnis secara tidak sadar memilih keanggotaan kelompoknya hanya sesama etnis, dengan ciri khas keetnisannya masing-masing, bersaing dan membuat pemisah antar kelompok, dalam hal mempertahankan kelompok untuk diakui dan menjadi peran utama di lingkungannya, memiliki kebersamaan etnis yang hanya memunculkan kekhasan kelompok tidak pada kekhasan individu, mempunyai identitas etnis yang kuat, kesepakatan dan mempertahankan kelompok, tetapi antar kelompok siswa tidak sampai pada segi terdapatnya tingkatan-tingkatan, membeda-bedakan, meremehkan (diskriminasi) antar kelompok. Terdapat dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan yaitu timbulnya solidaritas negatif. Tetapi dampak negatif ini dapat berdampak besar ketika masing-masing kelompok tidak membuat perubahan, untuk mengelompok pada porsinya.

Abstract: This research aims to determine the ethnosentrism among groups of students in class XI IPS SMA N 1 Sungai Ambawang. The research method is a form of qualitative descriptive research. The participants of this research werw 4 teachers and 6 ethnic group of students. Conducted interviews and observations of to the 6 ethnic groups carried on for 2 month. The research findings showed that the group in class XI IPS SMA N 1 Sungai Ambawang tends to ethnocentrism, they are across ethnic groups are unconsciously choosing only intra-ethnic group membership, with ethnocentrism characteristic compete and create separation between groups, in terms of maintaining the group to be recognized and become a major role in their environment, have together led to ethnic distinetiveness not only in individual particularities, which has a strong ethnic identitiy, and maintaining group agreement, between groups of students but not to the levels in terms of presence, discriminating, discrimination between groups. There are negative impact of this can have a major impact while each group doesn’t make a change, to be clustered on the portion.
