Abstract

This study was followed by the interest of researchers during their work in the art world who discovered several events, resulting in a lack of community knowledge even local educators and artists related to this dance. The uniqueness of a dancer who looks like a spider making a place to live or a spider's nest that becomes a difference with other strap claspings is also an attraction. Therefore researchers conducted motion-related research from this Laba-laba Jepin Dance so that it could be documented in the form of writing, pictures, as well as videos. On this study used descriptive research methods that took the form of qualitative research with a choreographic approach. Techniques in data collection are observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the results of this study it is therefore concluded that in analyzing shapes, techniques, and motion styles it can produce motion forms containing choreography principles with its own techniques and styles. Motion becomes the most important thing in a dance, because motion is the main element that contains space, time, and calmness. A slightly difficult technique requires mastery of motion and thus obtaining perfect motion. The motion and the lacing of the binding pattern become distinctive features in this dance.
