MENGGALI MISKONSEPSI TENTANG CAHAYA MENGGUNAKAN BAHASA IBU DENGAN TEKNIK THE INTERVIEW ABOUT INSTANCES

Abstract


Abstract

This research was aimed at describing the forms and causes of misconceptions that found in
SD Negeri 2 Nanga Silat. The method in this study used the interview technique, which 9
students of class V elementary school were selected as samples by purposive sampling.
Technique of Interview About Instances (IAI) was used to explore the concepts of light,
especially to found out the forms and causes of students' misconceptions who used the
Kapuas Hulu Malay language. The results show misunderstandings occurred in all concepts
of light, such as connection of light with the sense of sight and the reflection of light (9
misconceptions from 9 students), in the concept of light travels straight line (3
misconceptions from 4 students), in the concept of light encounter transparent materials (3
misconceptions from 3 students), misconceptions about refraction of light (6 misconceptions
from 9 students), and misconceptions about light (13 misconceptions from 9 students). The
causes of misconceptions which dominated by students such as preconception, associative
thinking, humanistic thinking, interest in learning, wrong intuition, incomplete/wrong
reasoning, and textbooks.
