PENERAPAN METODE INKUIRI DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENGANALISIS PUISI TERHADAP PENINGKATAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 4 SUNGAI RAYA TAHUN AJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract

The background of this research is determine the effect of the application of the

Inquiry method in learning analyzing poetry as an increase in student critical
thinking. The method of this research is experimental with a quantitative approach
using the design of the Modified Pretest-Posttest Group Comparison Design, using
two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The technique
used is observation techniques, interview techniques, documentation techniques,
test techniques, and questionnaire techniques. The results of the study were known
that the average result of the pre-learning learning method of the lecture was 59.73
and the posttest 62.36. The average result of the pre-learning method of inquiry
method is 56.05 and the posttest 80.52. The inquiry method is superior in
increasing the cognitive aspects of students. This is evidenced by the uji t that
differences in significant cognitive realm competencies after treatment. The
application of the Inquiry method has a positive influence of 27.05% of the critical
thinking skills of Shiva in cognitive aspects in the learning of poetry analysis. On
the other, students easier to understand the material and improve the competence
of language skills, then indirectly inquiry methods in learning poetry analysis can
improve students' critical thinking skills.
