Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the adequacy of energy calorie intake of martial
arts athletes during the training center (TC) for the XX PON in Papua. This
research is a quantitative descriptive survey. The population and sample in this
study were martial arts athletes who were carrying out the TC program totaling
12 athletes. Data analysis with Nutrisurvey then presented with descriptive
statistics. The results showed that the average athlete had a normal nutritional
status. To fulfill 100% of energy calories, athletes experience a lack of energy
intake, on average athletes are only able to meet their calorie intake of 46% of
the total energy needed. Energy consumption from carbohydrate and protein
sources of athletes has been fulfilled with the percentage of carbohydrate
fulfillment 52.22% and protein 16.22%. while for the fulfillment of energy from
fat sources, athletes consume excess fat with a percentage of 32.22%. The
conclusion is that athletes can only meet energy intake of 46% of the total needed,
but from the composition of energy from carbohydrate and protein sources it is
appropriate even though from fat sources there is an excess.
