Abstract
Abstract
This study aims to determine the cause of the low interest in entrepreneurship in
students. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative form. The data sources
are the head of the Catering program, the Entrepreneurship subject teacher, and
students of class X Catering. The data collection used is observation, interviews, and
documentation. The results show that the reasons for the low interest in
entrepreneurship in students are: income needs have been met by their parents, prestige
and popularity do not mean, the center of attention is not on entrepreneurship activities,
does not follow the steps of entrepreneurship from the family, is not given
entrepreneurship opportunities, does not acquire entrepreneurial knowledge. from other
sources. The cause of the high tendency is because the income needs have been met and
they do not get entrepreneurial knowledge. The efforts of educators to increase students'
interest in entrepreneurship are providing entrepreneurship training by providing
supporting facilities for the Catering department, conducting trading practice activities
in schools, holding trading activities in a bazaar, and providing entrepreneurship
subjects with teaching methods that can please students.
