Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions and motivation of student learning as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of learning Geography at home online during the Covid-19 pandemic of class XI IPS 2 MAN 2 Pontianak. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data sources of this study were students of class XI IPS 2 MAN 2 Pontianak and the data were in the form of interviews about students' perceptions and motivation to learn as well as supporting and inhibiting factors for learning geography at home online during the Covid-19 pandemic which was conducted via Whatsapp. Interviews were conducted with 6 students. The results showed, 1) students' perceptions when learning geography online are currently difficult to understand, even though there is a lot of free time. 2) Students' learning motivation, each of them is unique, such as having more curiosity and studying geography deeper individually by searching for articles or videos related to geography lessons so that learning geography online has its respective supporting and factors inhibiting .
