PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE JIGSAW UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK TENTANG PENGUKURAN

Abstract

This study aims to improve student achievementabout “measurement concept”by applying Jigsaw-type cooperative models in Physics teaching processed,. Quasi Experiment Design with nonequivalent control group design was choosed as a model of experiment. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak, which involved grades VII A and VII B with 35 students per class. Instrumenti forcollecting data were paper pencil test with 10 multiple-choice questions. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney U test using SPSS 26, the Asym.sig value was 0.002 <0.05 so that Ha was accepted, which means there are differences in learners' learning outcomes before and after the implementation of Jigsawtype cooperative model. This study showed that the increase of students achievement about measurement concepts after the implementation of the Jigsaw type cooperativemodel could be seen from the average score of each concepts with an increase of 22.86%. Based on the calculation, obtained effect size 0.71 ( classified as a medium ). Based on (Coe, 2002) The Jigsaw type cooperative learning model cooperative learning model isexpected to be used as an alternative to improvestudents achievement about “measurement’concepts.
