PERAN TEMAN SEBAYA DALAM KARAKTER RELIGIUS DAN GOTONG ROYONG KELAS VIIID SMPN 8 PONTIANAK

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of peers in developing religious character and mutual cooperation in social studies learning in class VIIID of SMPN 8 Pontianak. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive research type. The data sources of this research were students of class VIIID of SMPN 8 Pontianak and the data were in the form of observations and results of interviews of class VIIID class students, social studies subject teachers and class VIIID teachers of SMPN 8 Pontianak. The results of this study are (1) the role of peers in character development in terms of religious values in social studies learning in class VIIID SMPN 8 Pontianak as evidenced by the activity of praying before and after learning social studies, praying together, and reading short prayers. (2) the role of peers in character development in terms of the value of mutual cooperation in social studies learning in class VIIID SMPN 8 Pontianak is evidenced by the existence of collaborative activities with peers to work on group assignments, deliberation and consensus in selecting class leaders and student council leaders, students. can help each other in explaining tasks that are not understood, and antidiscrimination by advising peers not to discriminate.
