The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of the opening, core and closing activities in the literacy-based teaching and learning process in the sociology subject of class X IIS at MA Islamiyah Pontianak. The method used is descriptive qualitative.. The results showed literacy activities carried out in the online teaching and learning process of sociology subjects using google meet application at MA Islamiyah Pontianak because it was during the COVID-19 pandemic. In carrying out the literacy-based teaching and learning process in the sociology subject, the opening activity is carried out by checking the attendance of students, carrying out apperception activities, conveying objectives, conveying an outline of the material coverage and reading literacy activities for five minutes on the books and teaching materials provided, during the activity The core is carried out by delivering material, literacy activities by reading aloud and carrying out writing activities in the form of reinforcement such as essay exercises and taking notes on the material that has been submitted to build students' reading and writing literacy skills, and when closing activities are carried out by conveying material conclusions and assignments building student literacy in the form of written works a research design.
