Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the inquiry model by the teacher in sociology learning. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the inquiry model in sociology subjects in class XI IIS was carried out well according to the steps of inquiry, namely in the teacher orientation process conveying learning topics, conveying learning objectives and the teacher conveying the steps for implementing the inquiry model. The teacher gives questions to encourage students to be able to formulate problems, students respond positively to teacher questions so that students are encouraged to submit hypotheses. The students seemed enthusiastic in collecting data by looking for and sorting data from various references according to the problem. The teacher guides students so that they have the courage to ask questions and provide opinions in the process of testing hypotheses and formulating conclusions.
