PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL INTERNET FACEBOOK TERHADAP INTERAKSI SOSIAL MAHASISWA PRODI PENDIDIKAN SOSIOLOGI
Abstract
This research aimed to find out the effect of using the internet social media Facebook toward the social interaction of students of Sociology Education Tanjungpura University Pontianak. The method used in this research was quantitative in form of correlation research. The source of this research was regular A students of Sociology Education Tanjungpura University. The population of the research were 118 students from 2017, 2018, and 2019, and by using simple random sampling, 54 respondents were chosen. Indirect communication and study documentary were chosen as research techniques, and the data analysis was done by using simple linear regression via SPSS version 25 software. The result shown that there is a significant effect of using Facebook toward the social interaction of regular A students of Sociology Education Tanjungpura University Pontianak which covers following indicators: 1) imitation, 2) suggestion, 3) identification, and 4) sympathy. The four indicators affecting the respondents in interacting in Facebook indicated positive effect toward the regular A students of Sociology Education Tanjungpura University Pontianak. Facebook has 41,9% effect size toward the social interaction of regular A students of Sociology Education Tanjungpura University Pontianak, while the rest 58,1% were affected by other variables not looked into in this research.
