The learning independence of students is very influential for the formation of personality, so learning independence is seen as something that absolutely must be done by students. The effect of learning independence is important to measure the achievement of maximum learning outcomes,This study aimed to know what he wants to achieve in activities. learning of class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak, knowing what he to determine for the learning materials desired by class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak, to assess about assessing the level of ability needed to carry out his work and solving problems he encountered in the participant's life class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak to know the actions that have been taken was counseling teachers in developing independent learning of class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. This research method is descriptive method with the form of research used, namely research. survey. The subjects of this research were students in class XI with a total of 61 students. The techniques and tools used in this study were indirect communication using questionnaires and interviews. XI SMA 1 Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak as a whole reaches 70% in the "High" category.
