Abstract

This study aims to develop a higher order thinking test instrument and explain higher order thinking, which is assessed from the mathematics literacy of VIIB students at SMP Santu Petrus Pontianak. This research is in the form of research and development with the type of instrument development research. higher order thinking is developed through the test instrument development stage, which consists of two stages, namely: stage I is the preliminary stage, and stage II is the formative evaluation stage which includes self-evaluation, expert/expert assessment. (Expert Review), one-to-one evaluation (one to one), small group evaluation (small group) and field test (field test). Based on the results of the item analysis, the results show that the higher order thinking test instrument meets the accuracy indicator, so it can be used to measure higher order thinking. Based on the results of the analysis of the students' answers, it is known that the higher order thinking ability of class VIIB students at SMP Santu Petrus Pontianak is on a high criterion for analyzing indicators, while for indicators of evaluating and creating are at low criteria.
