Abstract


Abstract This study examines a didactic design model based on learning activities to overcome obstacles to learning mastery of algebraic concepts in junior high school mathematics learning. This type of research is a didactic design research (Didactical Design Research) with a descriptive qualitative approach to overcome obstacles to mastery of algebraic concepts. The research subjects in identifying barriers to understanding the concept of initial algebra were teachers and students of class VII SMPN 23 Pontianak. Based on the results of the study, students stated that there was a need for a material explanation that was concise and easy to understand, didactic design in the form of a learning design that contained learning steps and facilitated media in the form of brief material descriptions with the results of design validity, namely good categories and quantitative data with average - Average score of 87% with very valid category, validity of qualitative data that is good with quantitative data on average 86% with very valid category Keywords : Algebraic Concepts, Didactic Design Model, Learning Activities And Learning Obstacles
