Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to determine whether there are differences in learning outcomes between a group applying the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model and a group using conventional methods in class XI IPS MAS Al Mustaqim Kubu Raya. The research method used is experimental in the form of a quasi-experimental with a post-test only control group design. Sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique. Based on the calculation, the average posttest result for the experimental group was 75.77, and the control class was 60.85. The results of hypothesis testing using the SPSS version 16.00 for windows application based on the Independent Sample t-test output, obtained the Sig. (2 tailed) on the student learning outcomes variable in the experimental group and the control group of 0.000. Based on the Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 ; therefore, the nul hypothesis is rejected. In conclusion, there are differences in learning outcomes between students in the experimental group and the control group. The difference in learning outcomes indicates that the STAD learning model is effective for use and it affects the learning outcomes of class XI IPS MAS Al Mustaqim Kubu Raya students.
