Abstract
This studyis aimed to describe the meaning of the ngajat dance clothing symbol in the Dayak Iban tribe in the Ngaung Keruh Village of this research is related to the meaning of color symbols, patterns, froms of accessoris of the Ngajat Dance Clothing of the Dayak Iban Tribe in Ngaung Keruh, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan. Descriptive method with a qualitative from and a semiotic approach are used. The results of this study there were clothings used consisting of: (1) Sugu Ganggang shaped like a crown over a woman’s head; (2) Selempai seemed as scarves; (3) Tangok shaped like a lotus on the chest; (4) Rawai Pangkat shaped like a lotus but used at the waist; (5) Tenun woven shaped like a sarong; (6) Tumpak Jari in circular shape were wearing around the right and left wrists; (7) Tumpak Kaki are shaped like circular wearing around the right and left ankles; (8) Antin shaped flowers dangling in the right and left ears; (9) Buah Pauh shaped like mango was dangling in the middle of the left finger. In the Dayak Iban tribe there was a Naga motif meaning strength, flower meaning beauty and human which means knight/brave and the colors contained in the Tenun woven were yellow, meaning luxury, white means holy, black means sorrow, red means courage, and green means fertility.
