Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the character of responsibility and care for the environment in realizing green harmony school programs in elementary schools. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were the principal, teachers and students at State Elementary School 09 and State Elementary School 17 North. The data collection is done by conducting observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through stages: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Data validity checking techniques using triangulation techniques and triangulation of data sources. The results showed that the implementation of the development of the character of responsibility and care for the environment in realizing the green harmony school program was as follows: (1) The planning that teacher had include the character of responsibility and care for the environtmen in the lesson plan. (2) In its implementation the students have carried of responsibility and care for the environment. (3) The obstacles faced are that the school community and the community around the school environment do not yet have full awareness of their responsibilities and care for the environtment.
