IMPROVING STUDENTS ABILITY IN VOCABULARY MASTERY THROUGH PERSONAL VOCABULARY NOTES
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa baik penerapan PVN untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para siswa didalam penguasaan kosakata khususnya pada arti dan jenis kata itu sendiri yang dilakukan di kelas VII A SMPS Bumi Khatulistiwa, kecamatan Sungai Raya, Kab. Kubu Raya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian langsung dikelas oleh guru (CAR) meliputi perencanaan, pengajaran, peninjauan, dan pencerminan. Subyek penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas tujuh A berjumlah 25 siswa. Peneliti mengukur peningkatan siswa dalam penguasaan kosakata menggunakan latihan soal-soal pilihan ganda dan melengkapi table jenis kata. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus pertama skor rata-rata siswa hanya 55.4 < 65 sementara pada siklus kedua didapatkan skor rata-rata siswa adalah 77 > 55.4.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to investigate how well the use of Personal Vocabulary Notes (PVN) in the class to improve students ability in vocabulary mastery focus on its meaning and form to the seventh grade students of class A of SMPS Bumi Khatulistiwa, Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya. This research used classroom action research. The procedure of classroom action research consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects in this research were all the students of class A in grade seven consist of 25 students. The researcher measured the students improvement in vocabulary mastery by using multiple-choice and completion test items. The data analysis in the C1 showed that 55.4 < 65 while in C2 was 77 > 55.4.
