KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DITINJAU DARI FIELD DEPENDENT DAN FIELD INDEPENDENT MATERI SEGITIGA DAN SEGIEMPAT

One of the learning objectives to be achieved in the 2013 curriculum is the ability of students to think critically. From the results of the mathematic scores in triangle and square materials, the researcher found that 70% of students who do not understand the triangle and square materials. Cognitive style will influence students in understanding problems in solving problems because each student has a different way of compiling and processing information while studying the material provided by the teacher. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative in the form of case study research. From the results of research conducted on 28 students, it was found that 79% of students were in the Field Dependent category and 28% of students were in the Independent Field category. 2 subjects among them from the Field Dependent category taken had low critical thinking abilities, and from 2 subjects taken from the Field Independent category each had high critical thinking abilities and moderate critical thinking skills.
