Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in student learning outcomes in the hydrosphere learning material by apllying cooperative leartning models to the type of student team achievement division (STAD) and to find out how high the effectiveness of the application of this STAD model to the learning outcomes of class X MAN 2 Pontianak. The population and subjects in the study consisted of two classes, namely X IPS 2 totaling 36 students as the experimental class and X IPS 1 totaling 38 students as the control class. In this study using an experimental method with a quasy experimental design and nonequevalent control group design research design. Based on calculations obtained the average results of the final test experimental class by 80,33 and the average final test of the control class by 71,44. Hypothesis test results using the t-test is fcount 4,815 and ftable 2,073. Based on fcount > ftable means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be concluded that there are differences in class X MAN 2 Pontianak student learning outcomes by applying the STAD type cooperative learning model and with the expository method on the hydrosper material and effect size of 1,26 in the sense that the STAD learning model is more effective than the expository learning method on the results student learning in learning geography class X MAN 2 Pontianak hydrosper material.
