ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA PADA MATERI RELASI DAN FUNGSI DI SMP KEMALA BHAYANGKARI

Abstract


Abstract

This reseach aims to find out the description of students' mathematical representation abilities from symbolic to visual and visual to symbolic relation material and function in class VIII of SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected using tests, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Kubu Raya . The test results show the ability of mathematical representation of students from symbolic to visual material relations and functions are at a low criterion where students are able to understand the questions presented with symbolic shapes and pictures made of information the coordinates of the coordinates are still incomplete and unclear. The test results show the ability of students' mathematical representation from visual to symbolic relation material and function are at high criteria. Students have not been able to understand the problem with visual form and students can write symbols correctly and clearly, and write sequential pairs of pairs and symbolic results areas incorrectly and incompletely.
