PEMAHAMAN KONSEPTUAL SISWA DALAM MATERI SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINEAR DUA VARIABEL

This study aimsed to determine the student’s conceptual understanding of SMP PGRI 4 Pontianak in the subject system of linear equationsin two variabel (SPLDV). The method used in this study was is descriptive with the form of research being descriptive qualitative. As for the subjects of this study were eighth grade students consisted of 20 students. The results showed that students' conceptual understanding was classified as very low based on 5 indicators of conceptual understanding used, namely; (1) Students' conceptual understanding of the indicator restated the concept in the subject SPLDV belong to the high category. (2) Conceptual understanding of students in giving examples and non-examples in the subject SPLDV are included in the very low category. (3) Conceptual understanding of students in grouping objects according to certain characteristics in the subject SPLDV included in the very low category. (4) Conceptual understanding of students in using, utilizing, and choosing procedures in the subject SPLDV included in the high category (5)Conceptual understanding of students in presenting various forms of mathematical representation in subject SPLDV are categorized as very low .
