MISKONSEPSI SISWA TENTANG SUHU DAN KALOR MENGGUNAKAN TES DIAGNOSTIK DI SMA NEGERI 1 SEJANGKUNG

Abstract

The study investigated student misconception and cause of  the misconception on heat and temperature. A descriptive survey was employed. The sample for the study was 20 students of XI grade from SMA Negeri 1 Sejangkung. Data are collected by using multiple choice diagnostic tests with open reason and interview. The result indicated that student made 81% misconception about heat and temperature. The misconceptions were on the seven concept, including: heat, it  is  the  movement that affects temperature (55%), the mass of object is not affecting heat (30%), conduction are particle that conduct heat (90%), the heat transfer is a temperature moving from low temperature to high temperature (80%), heat type is straightly compared to temperature (35%), temperature affects the type of a substance (65%), and the bigger the melt heat, the faster it changes the form of the object (40%). The causes of students misconception which were about the heat and temperature from the students, including: student praconception, the incomplete reasoning or false reasoning, and student abilities. This invention was expected to be used as a consideration in choosing the suitable treatment to overcome the students’ misconception.
