Abstract

The results of the students of grade V SD Negeri 02 Pontianak Utara on science subjects are still low. This is because teachers use less innovative and monotonous learning models. One of the learning model that can be applied is cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT). The purpose of applying this learning model is to improve teacher performance, and student learning outcomes. The subject of the research is the students of grade V SD Negeri 02 Pontianak Utara. The research design used is classroom action research design conducted in three cycles, the procedures in each cycle are: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques, through: observation sheet planning and implementation of learning, and formative tests cycle I, II and III. Type NHT is said to be effective to improve the learning outcomes of science if, student learning outcomes have increased in each cycle, the percentage of complete classical learning ≥ 75% of the number of students who scored at least 75. The results of the first cycle of research grade average value reached 79.76 and the percentage of classical learning completeness reached 67.74%. In the second cycle there is an increase in the average grade value to 82.90 and the percentage of complete learning classical reach 87.09%. In cycle III the average grade value reaches 87.10 and the percentage of complete classical learning reaches 100%. From the discussion it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes class V SD Negeri 2 Pontianak Utara, through the application of the type of NHT in science subjects of circulatory equipment and circulatory disorders.
