Abstract
Background of this research was to review and to analyze the deixis in folklore series which was the result of transcription from spoken to written language. The aimed of this research to classify of types and functions deixis and to describe the relation between persona deixis and social deixis was Folklore Kalantika Series. The form of this research was qualitative with descriptive method. The data in this research was the deixis every folklore. The Source of this research was four folklore in every Folklore Kalantika Series. The data collection technique in this research was using documentation. The instrument was take the data from deixis sentences, in particular of persona deixis sentences and social deixis sentences. Based on data analysis of the four stories in folklore Kalantika series, it can be concluded that deixis persona which often used is deixis persona third singular person in the form ‘-nya’, meanwhile on deixis social that often appeared is the form of ‘bapak’ which fuction as the diversification of somebody’s social level. There are connection between deixis persona with deixis social because some forms of deixis social are parts of deixis persona. This thing can be seen from the form of ‘bapak’ which fuction as social degree as seen from genetic relationship adressing and also it has referential for second person or part of deixis persona second singular.
