PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA SISWA KELAS X SMK SANTA MONIKA

This study aims to improve speaking skills using methods of discovery learning. The method used in this research is descriptive and form research is classroom action research (PTK). Sources of data in this study were teachers, as many as 36 students of class X and documentation. The data in this study is the RPP, their observations, and the results of learning to speak. The technique used in this research is a measurement technique is test speaking skills, observation, and documentation.The results obtained from this study the increase conversational skills using methods of discovery learning. Based on the assessment criteria in the speaking skills of students has increased from aspects of pronunciation, fluency, diction, systematic, and sentences. The average value of student learning outcomes before using PTK with an average of 68.Then, on the first cycle increased by an average of 75.27. Furthermore, the value of the second cycle increased again with the average value of 79.44. Suggestions in this research is that Indonesian teachers can apply discovery learning methods in the process of learning, especially learning to speak.
