PENGARUH PENDEKATAN OPEN-ENDED TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA

Abstract


Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Open-Ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi tabung dan kerucut di kelas IX SMPN 1 Sungai Raya. Penelitian ini berbentuk eksperimen semu dengan rancangan posttest-only control group design. Teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran melalui tes tertulis berbentuk essai. Dari hasil posttest diperoleh skor rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 11,58 dan skor rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas kontrol sebesar 9,68. Dari hasil perhitungan uji U Mann Whitney, diperoleh  atau , maka terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Perhitungan effect size diperoleh sebesar 1,19. Sehingga kontribusi penggunaan pendekatan Open-Ended masuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi tabung dan kerucut di kelas IX SMPN 1 Sungai Raya.

Abstract: This research is aimed to determine the effect of the Open-Ended Approach toward student’s creative thinking ability in cylinder and cone material of ninth grade of SMPN 1 Sungai Raya. The form of this research is quasi experiment with posttest only control group design. The technique that is used in this research is measurement techniques via written tests in the form of essays. From the posttest result, it is known that the creative thinking ability of students’ average score in experiment class is 11,58 and the creative thinking ability of students’ average score in control class is 9,68. From U Mann Whitney test calculation, it is known that  or , so there are differences in creative thinking ability of students of experiment class and control class. Effect size calculation is 1,19. So the contribution of Open-Ended Approach included in high criteria. Based on these data, we can conclude that the Open-Ended Approach had effect on student’s creative thinking ability in cylinders and cone material of ninth grade of SMPN 1 Sungai Raya.
