REMEDIASI PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SUHU DAN KALOR MENGGUNAKAN MODEL CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING PROCEDURES PADA SISWA SMA
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pengaruh remediasi dengan model pembelajaran Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi suhu dan kalor di kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian ini berupa Pre-Experimental Design dengan rancangan One-Group Pretest-Postest Design yang melibatkan 32 siswa sebagai sampel yang dipilih dengan teknik intact group. Alat pengumpul data berupa tes pilihan ganda dengan alasan terbuka berjumlah 14 butir. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa setelah diremediasi sebesar 27,23%. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxon, diperoleh Zhitung = -4,953 pada taraf signifikasi 5%, hal ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa setelah diberikan remediasi menggunakan model pembelajaran CUPs. Efektivitas remediasi menggunakan model pembelajaran CUPs dihitung dengan Cohen’s Effect sehingga diperoleh effect size sebesar 0,64 yang tergolong sedang. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan model pembelajaran CUPs dapat menjadi alternatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi pembelajaran fisika yang lain.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of remedy using Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) learning model to the students’ concept understanding of temperature and heat in class X SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. Method of this research is pre-Experimental with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design which involves 32 students as the sample are selected by using intact group technique. Data collecting tool is multiple choice test with 14 items in opened ground. The result of data analysis show that the improvement of students’ concept understanding after being given remedy is 27,23%. Wilcoxon test results, it is Z-ob tained = -4.953 at the significance level of 5%. It indicates that there is an improvement of students’ concept understanding after being given remedy by using model CUPs. The effectiveness of remedy by using CUPs learning model is calculated with Cohen's Effect in order to obtain the effect size of 0.64 that is classified as moderate. The results of this study are expected to be an alternative to improve the students’ concept understanding in other learning physic materials.
