A STUDY ON THE STUDENTS ABILITY IN WRITING PROCEDURE TEXT

Abstract


Abstract: This study is aimed at describing students ability in writing procedure text. The research was conducted to the seventh grade students of SMP BinaUtama Pontianak in Academic year 2011/2012. The ability writing procedure text focused on the four aspects consisting of generic structure, imperative sentences, sequences words and the mechanics of writing. . The purpose of a procedure text type is to explain how something can be done such as directions, instruction manual and itineraries. The data were collected by the observation and giving written test to the students. The study was implemented in SMP BinaUtama, especially class seven A. The researcher took 36 students as the subject of research. The research showed that result of written test in writing procedure text, most of students had ability to use the generic structure, imperative sentences, mechanics of writing and sequences words. The students result of writing procedure text is moderator good.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini di tunjukan pada kemampuan siswa dalam menulis prosedure teks. Pelajaran ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis prosedure teks. Penelitian dilakukan dikelas tujuh SMP Bina Utama Pontianak tahun akademik 2011/2012. Kemampuan menulis prosedure teks fokus pada empat aspek terdiri dari susunan istilah umum, kalimat perintah, rangkaian kata-kata dan mekanik didalam penulisan. . Tipe prosedure teks ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana membuat sesuatu yang dapat digunakan seperti aturan, pengajaran manual dan rencana pengajaran. Sebuah data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan memberikan teks menulis kepada siswa. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan di SMP Bina Utama, khususnya kelas tujuh A. Penelitian mengambil 36 siswa seperti sebuah penelitian pembelajaran. Sebuah penelitian mempertunjukan hasil tes menulis didalam prosedure teks, siswa harus memiliki kempuan untuk menggunakan susunan istilah umum, kalimat perintah, mekanik dalam penulisan dan rangkaian kata-kata. Hasil siswa menulis cukup bagus.
