STUDI KOMPARASI PBI DAN INKUIRI TERBIMBING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR MATERI BAHAN KIMIA RUMAH TANGGA
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran dengan Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dan Inkuiri Terbimbing pada materi Bahan Kimia Rumah Tangga di kelas VIII SMPN 2 Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan Nonequivalent Control-Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII D untuk kelompok PBI dan kelas VIII B untuk kelompok Inkuiri Terbimbing. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 20 butir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor hasil belajar kelompok PBI 18,11 sedangkan kelompok Inkuiri Terbimbing 16,57. Hasil belajar kedua kelompok tersebut menunjukkan ada perbedaan nyata antara hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan model PBI dan Inkuiri Terbimbing dengan Sig=0,070 pada α=0,050, dimana pengamatan awal (pretest) berpengaruh terhadap hasil akhir (posttest). Melalui perbedaan hasil rata-rata skor posttest, model PBI lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model Inkuiri Terbimbing.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to compare the students result after being taught using Problem Based Instruction (PBI) and Guided Inquiry on learning about Household Chemical on eight graders in SMPN 2 Pontianak. The form of the research is quasi experimental with Nonequivalent Control-Group Design. The sample of this research are two classes, class VIII D as the PBI and VIII B as Guided Inquiry. The instrument in this research is multiple choices test with 20 items. The mean score of PBI class is 18,11. Meanwhile, the mean score of Guided Inquiry class is 16,57. It is shown that there is an obvious difference between students’ result which uses PBI model and Guided Inquiry with Sig=0,070 for α=0,050, where the pretest affects posttest. Through the difference of posttest result, PBI model is better than Guided Inquiry.
