PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMAHAMI BACAAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA SISWA SMP NEGERI 5 PONTIANAK
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan memahami bacaan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak menggunakan metode Discovery Learning. Memahami bacaan pada penelitian ini ditekankan pada unsur intrinsik cerpen. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 2 (dua) siklus. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa metode Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memahami bacaan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak. Sebelum dilaksanakan tindakan nilai rata-rata siswa 60, dilaksanakan tindakan siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 72, dan dilaksanakan tindakan siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 77.

Abstract: The goal of this research was to know the improvement of comprehend the text with Discovery Learning method. Comprehend the text on this research was focused on short story’s intrinsic substance. From of classroom action research. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive. This research consist of two cycles. Research finding showed the improvement of comprehend the textskill of student in eighth grade of SMPN 5 Pontianak with discovery learning method. Mean score of students was 60, the score improved in cycle 1 which the mean score was 72, and cycle 2 was 77.
