PEMAHAMAN KONSEPTUAL SISWA DITINJAU DARI TINGKAT KEMAMPUAN MATEMATIKA MATERI ALJABAR DI SMP
Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konseptual siswa ditinjau dari tingkat kemampuan matematika pada materi aljabar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 36 siswa kelas VIII B SMP N 5 Pontianak. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa tergolong rendah karena untuk siswa tingkat kemampuan matematika atas, indikator 1 hanya dicapai oleh 57,14% siswa, indikator 2 hanya dicapai oleh 17,85% siswa, sedangkan indikator 3 dan 4 tidak ada siswa yang mampu mencapai indikator tersebut. Siswa tingkat kemampuan matematika tengah, indikator 1 hanya dicapai oleh 18,17% siswa, indikator 2 hanya dicapai oleh 2,27% siswa, sedangkan indikator 3 dan 4 tidak ada siswa yang mampu mencapai indikator tersebut. Siswa tingkat kemampuan matematika bawah, indikator 1 hanya dicapai oleh 14,28% siswa, sedangkan indikator 2, 3 dan 4 tidak ada siswa yang mampu mencapai indikator tersebut.

Abstract: This research aims to find out students’ conceptual understanding in terms of the level of mathematical skills in algebra material. This research used descriptive method with case study research form. The subject of this research was 36 students of class VIII B of SMP N 5 Pontianak. The data analysis result showed that students’ conceptual understanding was relatively low because for students with high level of mathematical skills, indicator 1 was only achieved by 57,14% of students, indicator 2 was only achieved by 17,85% of students, while indicator 3 and 4 none of students achieved those indicators. Students with intermediate level of mathematical skills, indicator 1 was only achieved by 18,17% of students, indicator 2 was only achieved by 2,27% of students, while indicator 3 and 4 none of students achieved those indicators. Students with low level of mathematical skills, indicator 1 was only achieved by 14,28% of students, while indicator 2, 3, and 4 none of students achieved those indicators.
