WASTE WATER TREATMENT OF CRUMB RUBBER INDUSTRY BY PHOTOCATALYSTS Ag/ZAA-TiO2

Abstract


Ag/ZAA-TiO2 photocatalysts can increase photocatalytic activity to the good result, but this process has a weakness, which causes processed waste water polluted by photocatalytic. This research produce Ag/ZAA-TiO2 photocatalysts which coated on the fishing line, for the purpose to decrease Total Organic Carbon (TOC) waste water of crumb rubber industry. The goal of this research was to know a effect of contact time and fishing line length from Ag/ZAA-TiO2 photocatalysts to Total Organic Carbon (TOC) waste water of crumb rubber industry. Characterization of photocatalytic measured by fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-electron dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The result of this research show Ag/ZAA-TiO2 photocatalysts which coated on the 15 metre length of fishing line can decrease TOC level to 72.36% during time 60 minutes from 50 ml waste water sample of crumb rubber industry.
