HUBUNGAN TINGKAT DEPRESI DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT ANTIRETROVIRAL PADA PASIEN HIV/AIDS DI RUMAH SAKIT JIWA SUNGAI BANGKONG PONTIANAK
Abstract
HIV/AIDS is a virus that can attack the immune system which leads to decreased endurance so that the body is easily infected. HIV/AIDS patients takes of antiretroviral therapy to lower the virus in the body and reduce the complications. HIV/AIDS patients can cause emotional problems like depression. People with HIV/AIDS tend to depressed that will have an impact on medication adherence of ARV. Objective: To know the relationship between depression level with medication adherence of Antiretroviral (ARV) to HIV/AIDS patients in The Mental Hospital of Sungai Bangkong Pontianak. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study of cross sectional design. Primary data in the form of depression level were determined by using Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) questionnaire and medication adherence were determined by Morisky Medication Adherence Scale questionnaire(MMAS). This study was conducted in the Mental Hospital of Sungai Bangkong Pontianak with the number of respondents 31 HIV/AIDS patients. Data was analyzed by Spearman test with SPSS. Results: HIV / AIDS patients who were depressed with most respondents were 21 people (67.75%) while the medium depression were 10 people (32,25%). The most medication adherence is medium adherence, the numbered were 14 people (45,15%). Based on statistical analysis, the significant value (p) obtained with Spearman test is 0.000 (p <0,05) and the correlation value (r) is -0.844. Conclusion: There was a correlation between depression level and medication adherence in HIV / AIDS patients in Mental Hospital of Sungai Bangkong Pontianak.
