PENGARUH PENERAPAN GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE TERHADAP KINERJA KEUANGAN PERBANKAN YANG TERDAFTAR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA (BEI) TAHUN 2014-2016

Abstract

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to find empirical evidences of the influence of elements in the implementation of good corporate governance towards the performance of banking companies in Indonesia. The elements in the implementation of good corporate governance used in this study are (1) the activities of the board of commissioners (2) the size of the board of directors (3) the size of the independent commissioner (4) the size of the risk monitoring committee (5) the size of the audit committee. The population used in this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, during the period of 2014-2016. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method.

The technique of data analysis used was the multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis test by using t test which firstly done the classical assumption test to know the normality of the data. The t test aims to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable.

The results of this study indicate that (1) the activities of board of commissioners meeting has no effect on the financial performance (2) the size of the board of directors has a positive and significant effect on the financial performance (3) the size of independent commissioner has no effect on financial performance (4) the risk monitor committee has a significant negative effect on the financial performance (5) the size of the audit committee has no effect on financial performance.
