The Use of Generative AI in Higher Education Students’ Writing :A Systematic Literature Review
Abstract
This study explored the utilization of ChatGPT and Jenni.ai in higher education students' writing, by analyzing articles published between 2022 and 2024 in the Google Scholar database. From the 13 selected articles, it was found that Gen AI tools like ChatGPT and Jenni.ai are perceived as assistants in academic writing, providing real-time feedback, grammar checking, writing revision, translation, plagiarism detection, and idea generation. Notably, ChatGPT is also seen as a helpful tool for alleviating students' anxiety when examining their work. However, while the integration of Gen AI in education is rapidly evolving, students should exercise caution by considering the pros and cons, and avoiding over-dependence or misuse of these tools.
