Analyzing The Impact of Technology on English Language Learning: A Descriptive Study
Abstract
This study investigates the impact of technology on English language learners' linguistic competencies, motivation, engagement, and overall learning experience. Data were collected using a closed-questionnaire with a three-point scale (disagree, neutral, agree) from 82 respondents. The findings reveal that technology significantly enhances learners' vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills, with 92.68% to 96.34% of respondents agreeing to these improvements. Motivation levels were notably high, with all respondents indicating that technology increased their enthusiasm and enjoyment of learning English. Engagement was also universally high, with 100% of respondents agreeing that technology made lessons more engaging and interesting. The overall learning experience was profoundly positive, with every respondent acknowledging improvements in their confidence, efficiency, and satisfaction with English learning due to technology. These results underscore the transformative potential of digital tools in language education. Future research should explore the long-term impacts of technology on language learning and identify the most effective technological interventions for different linguistic skills.
