EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PEMBELAJARAN STS UNTUK MEREDUKSI MISKONSEPSI PADA MATERI GETARAN HARMONIK SEDERHANA DI SMA
Abstract
Abstract
The aim of this research is to measure the effectiveness of the application of science technology and society (STS) teaching model with the help of simulation virtual PhET in reducing the misconception of learners about the harmonic vibration of pendulum swing. The subjects of this research are the 30 students from the tenth grade of MIA II from SMA TarunaBumiKhatulistiwa year 2017/2018 which are taken by using intact group technique. The form of this research is the experiment method with one group pre-test post-test design. The instruments of this research are the diagnostic test is in form of 18 questions of multiple choices. The effectiveness of STS learning model in reducing misconception was analyzed based on the average score on each student and each concept during pre-test and post-test. The reduction of students having misconception of every concepts is 30.64%. And based on McNemar using with level of significance of 5% and db=1, and overallthere is a significant conceptual change with the size of 83.3%. The STS teaching model was effective in reducing students’ misconception with the effect size of 1.6 based on cohend’s criteria (category high). Therefore, STS teaching model is effective toreducing students’ misconception.
