PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE LATIHAN TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS V SDN 22 PONTIANAK

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of training methods on comprehension reading skills and to analyze how much influence the use of training methods on comprehension reading skills in class V West Pontianak 22 Elementary School. This study uses an experimental method with Experimental Design type One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population is all fifth grade students of West Pontianak Public Elementary School 22 consisting of 34 students, sampling a non-probability sampling technique with a type of purposive sampling, namely all VB classes of 22 Pontianak West Elementary Schools, totaling 34 people. The technique used in data collection is the measurement with the data collection tool used is an objective form written test. Based on data analysis obtained the results of the average student pre-test 67.18 and the average post-test results of students 80.12. After the t test is obtained, the count is 7.94 while the table with dk = 34-1 = 33 and the significant level (α) = 0.05 is 1.694, which is calculated as t table or 9.14 ≥ 1.694 which means that there is a significant influence on the use of drill methods on reading skills. student understanding. From the results of the effect size (ES) calculation, ES is obtained for 0.89 with high criteria. This means that the drill method provides a high influence on reading comprehension skills of fifth grade students of West Pontianak 22 Elementary School.
