This research is based on the situation in the field that there is a problem faced by teachers in the classroom in the education of civic education. So that, the impact on the learning outcomes of students who are still low. the common problem in this research is "whether by using cooperative learning method of jigsaw type can improve the result of student learning of fifth grade in elementary school bawamai. the purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of students' learning outcomes in civic education learning in five elementary schools bawamai Pontianak.

This research uses descriptive method that is problem solving procedure by describing the state of the object of research at the present moment based on the facts that appear. the research procedure consists of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. techniques and data collection tools such as direct observation, measurement, indirect communication, and documentary. Data collection tools are: observation sheets, test instruments, documents in the form of student data and learning outcomes, and student satisfaction questionnaire.

In conclusion, based on data of student learning outcomes after applied cooperative learning model type jigsaw learning, student learning outcomes after applied learning model of cooperative learning type jigsaw, student learning outcomes have increased from cycle one to cycle 2. in cycle one success rate achieved 65, 00%. on a two-stage success rate achieved at 82.00%.
