PENERAPAN STRATEGI REFLECTIVE LEARNING UNTUK MEREMEDIASI MISKONSEPSI SISWA TENTANG HUKUM ARCHIMEDES DI SMP
Abstract

Abstract: This research is a pre-experimental design of one group pretest posttest design to determine the effect of remediation using reflective learning strategies to remediating students' misconceptions about the Law of Archimedes. This was done by collecting quantitative data with two instruments, pre-test to determine student misconceptions before remediation, and post-test to determine student misconceptions after remediation. Data was collected by using the diagnostic tests in the form of multiple-choice comprised of 12 questions by representing four concepts related to Archimedes’s law arranged using Modified Certainty of Response Index (Modified CRI). The test was administered to 33 grade 8th students. It is found that the reflective learning strategies can affect students' misconceptions about the Law of Archimedes. The average percentage of the decreasing of number of students’ misconceptions each concept is 55% and the effect size of this study is 0,97. This research showed that the reflective learning strategies can be used as an alternative remediation activities to reduce students’ misconceptions.
