Pengaruh Pertumbuhan Penduduk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Kalimantan Barat
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of population growth on economic growth in West Kalimantan during the period 2008-2011.
This study was conducted in West Kalimantan by using secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Kalimantan. Data analysis model is an econometric model of the equation Ordinary Least Square method (OLS) by using the program E-views 4.1 as a data processing research.
Based on estimates, that population growth has negative and statistically significant for economic growth in West Kalimantan. The growth of the population in West Kalimantan always increase every year, but the population is not evenly spread. This is because most of the population inhabiting the coastal areas of West Kalimantan at a density of about 38 people, while the beach area is not relatively low density levels. West Kalimantan has a number of high dependency ratio is 46.32 percent to 66.75 percent. That is, 100 productive population burden as population age 46 have not been productive and non-productive or 100 productive population burden by 67 people aged yet productive and non-productive.
